TMS in Serbia: what a carrier or forwarder actually needs

BID Partners is a ready-made cloud TMS on a monthly subscription, used since December 2023 by 45 transport and forwarding companies in Serbia and the region. Here are eight things to check in any TMS and how BID Partners covers them.

  1. 1. SEF e-invoicing

Every invoice to a legal entity in Serbia goes through SEF. If the TMS does not send and receive SEF invoices, you retype them elsewhere.

In BID Partners: The sales invoice is created from the order and sent to SEF in one click. Purchase invoices are pulled from SEF, the IPS QR code is on the invoice.

  2. 2. Per-diems, travel orders and driver pay

Per-diems by country, travel orders and driver settlements follow local rules a foreign TMS does not know.

In BID Partners: Per-diems are computed from GPS border crossings, the travel order prints from the tour, monthly pay by km, percentage or bonus.

  3. 3. GPS providers used in Serbia

The fleet already has GPS. The TMS should read that data, not ask you to replace the devices.

In BID Partners: AMSEC, Wialon (Almaks), NTS and Eurowag. Position every 30 seconds, odometer from GPS, kilometres and crossings per country.

  4. 4. Fuel and toll card statements

Monthly statements from several issuers are the largest manual entry in a carrier.

In BID Partners: Statement import for MOL, Eurowag, Shell, DKV, ENP, VERAG, NIS, OMV, Euro Petrol, EKO, ØresundPay and ATOL, matched to vehicle, tour and driver.

  5. 5. Bank statements, foreign VAT and excise

The accountant has to know what was paid and what can be claimed back from abroad.

In BID Partners: Raiffeisen and Intesa statement import with automatic invoice matching, foreign VAT and diesel excise refund records.

  6. 6. Profit per tour before the truck is back

Without a tour settlement, profit shows up only when the accountant closes the month.

In BID Partners: The tour collects fuel at FIFO tank price, tolls, per-diems and a share of fixed costs. The tour result is visible while the truck is on the road.

  7. 7. Driver app

Loading status, CMR and receipts from the road otherwise arrive by phone and in the cab.

In BID Partners: BID Driver for Android: current tour, stop statuses, CMR photo, receipt scanning with AI reading into tour costs.

  8. 8. Ready product, local support, data in Europe

Custom development takes months and is paid up front. A ready system is onboarded in weeks.

In BID Partners: Monthly subscription per user, no fixed-term contract. Support on weekdays 8 to 18 in Serbian and English. Hosted on Microsoft Azure in Europe.

Ready software or custom development

BID Partners does not sell custom software development. All companies use the same system, and user requests enter the shared product through tickets with an estimate and a deadline. Tailoring is done through modules and per-company settings: cash register, forwarding, organisational units, partner network, cost rules, letterheads and document languages.

Onboarding takes two to three weeks: import of customers, vehicles and drivers, team training and extended support. It is a one-time fee, quoted up front.

A fit for

  • Road carriers with their own fleet, from 3 to over 100 trucks
  • Freight forwarders and brokers working with subcontractors
  • Companies that do both
  • International and domestic full and part loads

Not a fit for

  • Courier delivery with route optimisation for hundreds of addresses a day
  • Warehouse management (WMS)
  • Companies that need software written only for them
